A. Verdejo was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and later moved to Mexico City, where, throughout his childhood, the seeds of his artistic vision took root. Living near Frida Kahlo’s museum in Coyoacán’s culture centre and traditions like Día de Muertos, influenced his festive perception of life and death. In 2019, he moved to Germany to study engineering, and in parallel, kept developing his passion as a self-taught artist.
His practice began with detailed ink drawings and has since expanded into oil painting, each stroke revealing the delicate balance of nature. He invites viewers to step closer to his work; what appears whole from afar dissolves into countless fragile elements, mirroring the intimate dance of life and death in the natural world. Now based in Munich, he continues to delve into these themes of transformation and perception.
